Arskametalli Oy, located in Somero, the souther-western part of Finland, is a family business that has been operating for three generations, specializing in the production of grain drying and storage equipment since 1958.
We act responsibly towards our customers and the surrounding environment. We are committed to delivering products that not only withstand the test of time but last from one generation to the next. All Arska products are carefully designed and crafted in Finland, using top-quality materials and industry-leading manufacturing technology.
We have been granted the CE marking for structural welded steel assemblies and product systems, as well as for our internal quality control measures. Our operations are based on SFS-EN ISO 9001 quality system and bearing structures of our products, in turn, lean on SFS-EN ISO 3834-3 welding requirements. We follow the essential requirements of SFS-EN ISO 14001 environmental standards and occupational health and safety regulations of OHSAS 18001:fi. Arska Metalli is part of the Aska Group.

We are committed to developing our production to be more sustainable and hence minimizing our environmental impact. In recent years, our production facilities have seen the installation of nearly a hundred solar panels and dozens of air heat pumps, designed to increase the share of renewable energy sources. Our sustainability work is driven by our responsibility to do our share in ensuring pure and locally produced Finnish food - not just for today but also for the generations to come.
History
The stories of many growing companies include a good idea, a strong belief and a vision of the future - and a bit of luck. This has also been true for our Finnish family business Arskametalli Oy. It started from the need to dry grain more efficiently.
1958 Arvo Käkönen built a silo dryer on his own farm in Riihivalkama, Tammela. The machine was very ahead of its time.
1959 Dryer manufacturing started. The brand name was Siilo-Veto and the company name Tmi Kone ja Kuivuri.
1964 New production hall in Jakkula, Somerniemi.
1969 Facilities in Jakkula faced a fire in 1968. New production facilities were acquired in Harjunkylä, Somero. The brand name was changed to Arska.
1973 Company name was changed to Arska-Tehtaat A. Käkönen Ky.
1979 New, current facilities were built to Härkälä, Somero (workspace currently approx 7000m2).
1981 Generational handover – Jorma Käkönen bought the company from his father.
1989 Marketing company Arskametalli Oy is established
1992 Production was moved to Arskametalli Oy
2010 Generational handover – Jorma retired and his sons Jari and Janne took over the management of the company.
2016 Arskametalli Oy bought Mepu Oy.
2023 Arskametalli Oy became part of Arska Group
