Grain sorter

Efficient Grain Sorting and Pre-cleaning

Discover the Mepu and PSC series grain sorters – reliable, quiet and easy-to-use solutions that ensure high quality of grain and seeds. The Mepu Major 2000 offers high capacity in a compact form with a rotating drum cleaner and standard pre-cleaner, while the Zanin PSC 1 and PSC 5 sieve cleaners use gravity feeding and carefully selected perforated sieves for one- or two-stage cleaning.

Zanin Sieve Cleners PSC 1 and PSC 5

The Zanin PSC sieve cleaners provide a reliable solution for cleaning grain and seeds to meet different needs. The sieve cleaner separates fine, medium and large impurities in the product and classifies the product using a one- or two-stage system.

PSC 1 is a single-stage cleaning system that effectively separates large and fine impurities, producing a clean and high-quality end product.

When more precise cleaning and calibration are required, the PSC 5 offers a two-stage process that removes light, coarse and fine impurities in two steps. This ensures high quality and careful seed grading even in demanding conditions.

Operating Principle of Zanin PSC 1 and PSC 5 Cleaners

PSC sieve cleaners use gravity feeding and a counterweight system that ensures even distribution of grain into the sieve box. Cleaning uses sieves made from perforated metal plates chosen according to the grain type being processed, which effectively remove impurities.

PSC 1 is a single-stage cleaning system where large and fine impurities are separated in a single sieving step. The upper sieve removes larger impurities and the lower one separates fine impurities. It is ideally suited for seed sorting and produces a clean, high-quality result.

PSC 5 uses a two-stage process in which airflow and sieves remove light, coarse and fine impurities in two consecutive stages. Before the grain exits, dampers even out the flow, and finally the airflow ensures remaining impurities are removed to a cyclone or filter. This achieves an exceptionally precise and thorough cleaning result.

Operating principle of the Zanin PSC 1 cleaner

  • 1. Feed inlet for uncleaned product
  • 3. Discharge channel for large impurities
  • 4. Discharge channel for fine impurities
  • 5. Discharge channel for cleaned product

Operating principle of the Zanin PSC 5 cleaner

  • 1. Feed inlet for uncleaned grain
  • 2. Air inlet
  • 3. Removal of coarse impurities
  • 4. Removal of fine impurities
  • 41. Additional removal of fine impurities (optional)
  • 5. Discharge outlet for cleaned grain
  • 6. Impurities

Drum grader Mepu Major

The affordable and efficient Mepu Major 2000 grader is equipped with a rotating sieve drum that ensures consistent grading results. Thanks to its carefully designed construction, the small footprint grader has high capacity. The quiet, efficient and reliable Mepu grader is easy to install and commission. The grader can be installed, for example, on top of a batch dryer. Due to its carefully engineered structure, the machine does not vibrate and does not require constant supervision. Maintenance needs are also minimal. The grader weighs approx. 200 kg.

The grading capacity in normal grading is 0.5–1 t/h, pre-cleaning and grading 1–2 t/h.

Standard pre-cleaner included

The grader includes a standard separate pre-cleaner operating on the updraft principle, which removes dust and other impurities from grain, peas, rapeseed and oilseed rape. Speeds and tilt angle of sieve drums available in several hole sizes can be adjusted steplessly while the machine is running.
